Spring Is Calling: What’s Biting, What’s Blooming, and What’s Happening at White River

There’s a moment every year when winter finally loosens its grip. The mornings feel different. The river moves a little faster. The woods smell alive again.

That moment is here.

Spring at White River Fishing & Game Club isn’t just a change in temperature — it’s a reset button. For anglers, it means fish are getting active. For hunters and wildlife watchers, it’s the return of movement and color. For all of us, it’s a reminder of why we joined in the first place.

What’s Happening on the Water

As water temperatures rise, species like bass and crappie begin shifting into pre-spawn patterns. They move shallower, become more aggressive, and give us all a reason to dust off the tackle boxes we swore we organized last fall.

Early spring can be unpredictable — cool mornings, warm afternoons — but that fluctuation can trigger feeding activity. Slow presentations early in the day and a little more movement as the sun warms things up can make all the difference.

Even if the fish aren’t biting, the river is.

Wildlife Is on the Move

You’ll start seeing more deer movement at dusk. Turkeys are getting vocal. Waterfowl activity shifts as migration patterns change. It’s one of the best times of year to just sit quietly and observe.

Bring binoculars. Leave your phone in the truck. Listen.

There’s something grounding about it.

Club Season Is Picking Up

Spring also means more events, more gatherings, and more chances to connect. Whether it’s a Euchre tournament, a cookout, a contest, or a simple evening at the clubhouse, this is when the club really comes alive.

If you’ve been meaning to come out but haven’t in a while — this is your sign.

Bring a friend. Bring your kids. Bring a story.
